ABOUT

Second Time Around, from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, began as a small group of friends with a common love of music, getting together to have fun and jam. Over time, our group grew until we decided to take this "house band" public. For the past ten years, we have been one of Chicago's most sought after classic rock bands. We perform approximately 25-30 hand picked gigs per year, most being outdoor Summer fest venues.

As the name implies, Second Time Around is a group of 8/9 seasoned musicians and vocalists that have pooled together in the prime of their years to perform the classic rock music we grew up with and love. Influenced by classic rock greats of the late '60s, '70s and '80s such as The Doobie Bros., Fleetwood Mac, Kansas, REO and The Who, our goal is to echo the music of the original artist with energy and precision. We create an authentic classic rock sound true to the original with NO BACKING TRACKS! Our ability to cover songs with tight harmonies is one factor that sets us apart from other bands. With a male vocalist and two female vocalists, we can cover a variety of classic rock songs from “Free Ride” to “Straight On”. Our specialty is covering harmonic groups such as "The Eagles," "Yes," "Boston," "Heart," and "Lynyrd Skynyrd" as well as replicate stellar solo numbers like "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane and "Desperado" by The Eagles. With our exceptional musicians we have the ability to select from a wide variety of styles and groups, recreating that bona fide classic rock sound.

JBL, double 18 subwoofers with matching front of house speakers. Aviom wireless in-ears. Roland RD-700 keyboard and a Hammond XK-3 with Leslie. And literally dozens of guitars.
