Band to Join, Vocalist, Other Percussion, Background Singer, Harmonica.

ABOUT

Looking to join a band - Seasoned dedicated Harmonica Player, Background Vocalist (can work in harmonies if desired), Other Percussion to help the wall of sound if desired.

Most say my harmonica style is most similar to Charlie Musslewhite's sound.

Recently moved to Las Vegas/Henderson from Nor Cal.

A full-time dedicated blues Harmonica player. Plays blues, rock, southern rock, country, folk, bluegrass, and have played pop, funk and even heavy metal as a harp player. I show up on time, focus on the music. Dependable, supportive, and knowledgeable about music. Been playing the harp since I was 14. I have been a harmonica instructor and taught live and online classes. I have been deemed a mentor for online harmonica schools and have been asked to instruct the harmonica for Guitar Center in SF Bay Area.

I have experience helping to market a band and getting them gigs.

I have played over 100 gigs in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento markets.

Have a full assortment of Other Percussion to support the band.

Have experience as the sound person in the studio and gigging to set up mixers, etc. Organized the band gig stage set-up and presence. I have help market bands online and also obtaining them gigs.

I am use to formal practices 2 days a week, 3-4 hours each. I also play the harp on my own throughout the week. Gigging one or more gigs a week. Prefer to gig 3-4 times a month but have gigged 6 times per month.

A sampling of some of the venues played - Blues Stage in Half Moon Bay, The Bistro, Main Street Brewery in Pleasanton, Alice's Restaurant, Los Gatos Music in the Street Annual Event, Winters Tavern, Big Dog Vineyards, Little Fox in Redwood City, The Office, The Pioneer, Harley Davidson private event, Flights, Freewheel Brewing, Flyer's, SF Brewing Co, Highway 1 Brewing, Los Altos Annual Music Festival, Casa Orozco - Livermore & Dublin, Spin a Yarn, Off the Rails Brewing Co, Old County Cellars, Our Place Bar, Pine Street Bar, Riggers, Auburn Lounge, Bent Creek Winery, Bar 101, Peninsula Italian American Club, Sutter Hospital Park - home of the River Cats event, San Juan Club, Private parties and events, Misc Farmers Markets, others venues, and of course jamming with other musicians and open mic sessions. I have been asked to sit in on many gigs with various bands in the Bay Area and Nor Cal, as they know I am moving and will be seeking a band in NV. I join in open mic sessions but really seeking a new band in the Las Vegas area.

I move on the stage and bring the crowd more alive as we play. I involve the audience so they can experience the band as we get into the music and the crowd gets into us. That mix brings energy and improves the live performance of the band.

Influences

John Mayall, John Lee Hooker, Sonny Boy Williamson, Charlie Musslewhite, Muddy Waters, Hollin' Wolf, Little Walter, James Cotton, Mick Jagger, Mickey Raphael, and so many others.

Got hooked on the harp with John Mayall's Room to Move when I was in my early teens. Listening to so many Blues artist brought more connection to the music. The crossover from blues to rock was easy with the bands out of the 60's and 70's. Then added folk and country, and a taste of bluegrass. I can now play by feel and the sound of a song.

The Harp for me, brings me closer to the music than playing guitar did and does.

My all-time favorite band however is Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. My favorite song is House of the Rising Sun by the Animals. My favorite song to play the harp to is anything that I can feel when I play the harmonica.
