My name is Paul Spitzer. I go by "songs." I've been in other bands, but "songs" is my own music. I play a fusion of soul, blues, rock, jazz, funk, and folk. I have a lot of originals. I'm 40 years old and have been writing and playing guitar since I was 15. I've been singing as long as I can remember, and I have great pitch, a powerful voice that carries, and a great rock/soul tone with a broad range from bass to alto with a confident falsetto. You can check me out on ReverbNation at /seesongsmusic for a sampling of my capabilities. I'm currently in Santa Monica but am open to relocating for the right group. I'm sure we could be gigging after a couple or a few rehearsals. I know quite a few covers from Otis Redding to the Steve Miller Band to Led Zeppelin, a bluesy version of Hit Me, Baby, One More Time, Cake, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Billy Joel, U2, Ben E. King, Buffalo Springfield, Van Morrison, The Cars, Johnny Cash, The Black Keys, Roberta Flack, The Police, etc. I am an energetic frontman and at home on the stage. I look like Robert Plant and move like a rock star. I'm more interested in doing my originals, but I do like to do covers. I definitely don't want to be a "cover band" though. My music is kind of Jack Johnson-y, but with a more soulful voice, and fairly simple, and easy to follow. I want a dancey sound with a drummer who can help me find a way to move the audience's hips. I have almost all my songs except for some more recent ones on my Google Drive laid out with chords. I want this to be my project, and I have a vision for it, but I'm certainly open to input and definitely not an egotistical Nazi. I'm patient and will take the time and head space for ideas that work. Let me know if you're interested. I'm ready to rock! I'm looking for players who can play in the pocket but are versatile and able to wank when necessary.. I haven't decided whether or not I want to play rhythm guitar. With the right people backing me, I won't need to, but I will definitely want to at times.

EQUIPMENT
I currently have a Breedlove Mahogany Dreadnaught electric acoustic in excellent condition, a brand new, electric acoustic, concert, Breedlove Ukulele, and brand new Mitchell mandolin, and I'm saving money at the moment to get a nice portable PA. I have a decent laptop and multiple microphones as well as a camera that records in 4k.
