Service of Shadows is a progressive groove metal band from Richmond VA. Our primary sound is generally a blend between Lamb of God and Nevermore with a small dose of Dream Theater added on occasion. However, we're very open to take a song where ever it leads us. Nothing is off the table when it comes to writing. We're all very dedicated to what we do and to our goals of being a full time touring and recording band. Every member is expected to pour 100% dedication into this project.
We're looking for a powerful, heavy hitting animal with lots of stage presence to step behind the kit and lay a solid foundation of groove and intensity for the band. We need someone to be a driving percussive force.
We try to keep a balance of gigging out and writing new material/recording. During busier times we play about 6-8 shows a month; slower times (when we're more focused on writing/recording) about 2-3 shows a month. We mostly span the Richmond area, Chesapeake/VA Beach, Colonial Heights, Northern Virginia (Stafford and Fredericksburg), Baltimore Maryland, and Knoxville Maryland. We're willing to travel and plan on touring as soon as possible.
