Shane Almgren has been banging out tunes on the keys since the ripe ol’ age of 4. He was playing in church by age 6, studied in China with the conductor of the Changsha Symphony at age 11, won the Western Pennsylvania composer competition at 16, and had a couple TV appearances under his belt before graduating high school.

He spent his college years playing in dueling piano bars and lounges, and briefly toured in China impersonating a Grammy Award-winning rock band after they backed out at the last minute. It’s a fabulous story that he won’t go into here for extreme legal reasons, but suffice it to say that it brought him to Nashville.

He landed a weekly gig at Merchant’s Restaurant on Broadway, and played regularly at the Wildhorse Saloon. An after-party gig at TPAC led to an invitation to join the touring production of Billy Joel’s Moving Out, which he turned down for reasons that he swears made sense at the time (one of them had to do with a girl).

He’s currently plays with Max Headroom (80's cover band) and "Up" A Shania Twain tribute; but he's played with some hard rockers, a few pop acts, and too many Country/Southern Rock bands to list. He enjoyed a memorable 3-year run with Nashville’s critically-acclaimed comedy theater show “Bye Bye Liver: The Nashville Drinking Play.” He’s toured the southeast with a number of indie artists, and did a brief stint with Soundstream Records country artist Austin Webb.

Shane is an ASCAP songwriter and a producer/DJ of EDM under the artist name krystL bLu. He also moonlights as an actor, appearing in films like Dear Mr. Cash, Like A Country Song, and the TV show Nashville.
