ABOUT

Sharon B. Thomas’ ever broadening musical career has spanned over a decade as an accomplished tenor and soprano saxophonist. Born and raised in Washington, DC, Sharon began her musical journey at a very early age learning the piano. At the age of 13, Sharon began playing the drums. At the age of 15, she joined her high school marching band playing the flute. During her last year in high school, she fell in love with the saxophone after being introduced to the sounds of Grover Washington.

Sharon's diverse musical talent has also added a "unique" and "incomparable" flavor to several upscale affairs in the Metropolitan D.C. area. She has performed with numerous local bands at various clubs, hotels, restaurants, festivals, convention centers, churches, etc.

Sharon has been invited to sit-in and "jam" with a variety of well-known bands up and down the East Coast, as well as play with nationally established recording artists on TV. Her band has performed with and have shared the stage with numerous recording artists such as Kem, Algebra Bllessett, Bootsy Collins, Moriris Day & The Time, Mother’s Finest, Ginuwine, Ralph Tresvant, Dawn Robinson of EnVogue, Parliament Funkadelic, Tony Terry, Brian McKnight, Ruben Studdard, Larry Graham, and the late Teena Marie just to name a few. She has also played at The White House for President Obama, Blues Alley, The MCI Center, The Strathmore, Rams Head, Kennedy Center, Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club, TheArc, and The Lincoln Theatre in Washington, DC. She has also performed at numerous outdoor festivals including ArtScape, and Lake Arbor Jazz Festival. Sharon has entertained at the Cancun Music Festival, Tom Joyner Fantastic Voyage Cruise, and the Capital Jazz Cruise. She is an interactive performer always engaging her audience before, during and after performances.

Sharon is active in the community working with the homeless, senior citizens, and the mentally challenged. Sharon says “Bringing joy and happiness to others through my music is the most rewarding”.

As a life-long resident of the Nation's Capital, Sharon's "rich" musical heritage has given her a foundation in an industry, where "experience" and "passion" are paramount to one’s overall success. Sharon has boldly vowed that her musical journey will not come to an end until she feels she’s reached nothing short than the pinnacle of her melodical capabilities.

Although she has recorded on several other artists CDs, she recently released her debut CD, Fahrenheit. Sharon will continue to work the national, international, and local, circuits spreading her music and God-given talents.
