Overall Impression:
Ultra stylish and steeped in a great amount of flair, "Girl I Need You" is an invigorating foray back to that instantly recognizable classic r&b sound adopted throughout the '80s and early '90s, with its synth-based bass and funk-filled guitar. Sharper, Cruver, and Black Xperience Band have crafted a super catchy and groove-laden track that contains a great amount of melody and rhythmic bounce, great work!


Strongest Point(s):
The way the artist has successfully captured the sound of classic r&b through means of instrumentation and production is brilliant, I could easily imagine coming across this in a vinyl store back in the day, it has that very particular sound to it that acts as a perfect snapshot of that early r&b period that began to utilize synth and electronic elements in its arrangements, it works wonders here. The performances are very strong, fitting the style of the track perfectly and I particularly like the way spoken conversations are interspersed throughout the track, it adds a brilliantly humorous element to the song and also helps to create a great amount of contrast with the sung sections, giving the track not only a sense of dynamic energy but also heaps of character and personality. The way the lyrics have been written and arranged help give the song a sense of story, this is largely helped by the aforementioned mix of spoken and sung sections and helps further engage the listener by means of feeling as if we're in the same room as the two people that are conversing with one another, I couldn't help but be invested in the conversation which was a pleasant surprise.


Area(s) of Improvement:
I think this track knows exactly what it wants to be and how to achieve that, and to me, it does just that, I don't see any areas that would benefit from any changes.
