ABOUT

Shaun has been playing drums for almost 16 years now. He started when He was in 4th grade at the age of 9. taking drum set lessons before starting band in elementary school. The first time He experienced playing in front of a crowd was when he was around 13 sitting in with a well known cover band that played classic rock. Shaun then continued onto high school marching band playing the snare drum. He was the section leader of his high school drum line his Junior and Senior year, while there Shaun helped lead the band/drumline to multiple 1st place competition awards. While Shaun was in high school He played drumset in several garage/basement bands, ranging anywhere from Rush tunes to modern rock and country songs. After graduating high school Shaun took some time off from playing, and attended college. That lasted for about 6 months before he was getting the itch to play, he dusted off the dust and set his kit back up and started going back over the basics and refining his technique.

What Shaun is currently interested in doing is getting the most exposure as possible. He plans to relocate to Nashville in the future and would like to gain as much experience here in Columbus (or neighboring cities) as he possibly can. He is also capable of doing "fill in" projects if need be.

Influences

I have several influences ranging from many different styles.

I grew up on Classic Rock, listening to everything from Phil Collins (Genesis)to Steve Smith (Journey). As I matured, I grew more fond of Rock Music listening to Lars Ulrich of Metallica and Neal Peart From RUSH. Recently in the last 5 years I have taken a great interest in Country music, Country Rock and Pop Country. I also try to explore different styles of swing and blues. I have "heroes" from many different types of music and try to grab something from all them and make it my own.
