Well where do you start. I’ve been playing music for most of my life and it is the most important thing in this life to me.
I play guitar (electric and acoustic) and piano, I also sing. I can play bass but guitar and piano are my professional level instruments. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz performance from San Diego State University. I have played in several groups in the past the styles varied from rock, to jazz to hip hop. I would say I’ve played the most gigs in jazz groups. Probably because I was around a lot more of jazz musicians in the past and because I also love the music.
At this point I’m ready to do what I’ve always wanted and intended which is be in a group that plays original material and tours. I’ve been writing songs for a while now and really stepped it up in the last year. If I had to define it I would say it’s definitely rock, but some songs certainly have jazz influence( not in the rhythm as much but more in the harmony)
I intend to be in a group with a high level of musicianship because that’s what I’ve always been attracted to is groups that not only write great songs but can play the hell out of their instruments and communicate through them to that synergistic point where the group raises each other to a higher level then they would be individually.
That being said I know that takes time to cultivate.
