ABOUT

We are an unsigned "indie-rock" band. We used to play shows around Seattle quite frequently until our drummer moved to New York a couple years ago. So, we've been out of the loop but the two core members (myself and ben) who play bass and guitar/vocals respectively, have kept playing music together despite not having a drummer, though it of course limits the kinds of shows we can play. In fact Ben and I have been writing songs together for approximately 15 years. We have a demo that is sometimes played on KEXP Seattle. We have an album recorded, mixed, and mastered. It just isn't pressed yet. We would want someone who would be willing to learn the songs on the album more or less as they are played but then any new songs (of which there are several) would be open to any style, provided it works with the songs. There is video of a live show of us on be. Just type in "shoes for december" (don't forget to add the quotation marks). We also have a page under our band name (we're working on a one), and also a website I built that is very much a work in progress at .shoesfordecember. Anyhow, we're just looking to release the album, play shows in the northwest with the possibility of touring if its in the cards. So, yeah, we're looking for a drummer and possibly a violinist or cellist. Well, that is that.....Cheers.

Influences

Modest Mouse, The National, Beck, Nirvana, Grandaddy, and many others. This is not to say we sound like any of them. Its just those bands that have provided inspiration.

EQUIPMENT

Not much but we get by. We're looking to upgrade our equipment. We also need a rehearsal space if we are to play with a drummer. We would of course be willing to split the cost for a space rental if required.
