I’ve just updated my profile after leaving it untouched for almost 20-years (2024). I previously described myself as a “musician with a day job” but it’s really a career. A very busy one and it doesn’t involve music. I have, however, been committed to playing bass in a classic rock, blues and country band even though I’ve played 6-string for most of my life. Things have changed and I’m still flexible with my musical direction but two things I have learned about being in a band: (1) you need to find a group of people that you like being with and (2) you need to be willing to work hard as it won’t last if everybody doesn’t get it. For me, the work pays off when you’re playing live to a room full of people on their feet. If they’re dancing, you know they’re enjoying your music.
Most of the recordings I’ve shared are over 20-years old but somewhat showcase my background and interests. Except for the montage with me playing bass with a band, all the recordings were written and played by myself except for the drums and a few of the sound effects.

Influences
Influences are always changing and difficult to pin down but Jeff beck is still my favorite guitarist, I was inspired to try piano by Bill Evans and my heart grows lighter every time I hear Ella Fitzgerald. My daily musical rotation usually has jazz from the 50’s and 60’s, and maybe classic soul with a fair amount of classical music, but when I’ve put the guitar down for a while, I want to pick it back up whenever I hear face-melting heavy metal or hard rock which is where it all started for me.
