SEEKINGBand to Join.
I am a lyricist/songwriter who has written songs in a variety of genres.
I joined BandMix to achieve two basic objectives: 1) Find musicians who want to perform and record the songs I've already had a part in writing. 2) Find songwriters to write music for the lyrics I've written or will write in the future.
If you're a band or performer seeking original songs please let me know what kind of songs you're looking for and I'll send you a sampling of songs I've written in that genre.
If you're a songwriter looking for lyrics I have a PDF file with 25 of my available lyrics. Contact me and I'll send it to you. I do require a proficiency in recording basic tracks; doesn't have to be elaborate. For full recordings I've had success with Kompoz. In my sampling of songs Shadow In the Night, Quicksand, Ten Million People Waved Goodbye, When Blessings Rain Down, and Tryin' To Be A Rock Star were all done on Kompoz.
I recently joined another collaboration site called .Procollabs It's less convoluted than Kompoz and I'm able to upload a PDF file of my lyric catalog. Look for my profile under SMajor. Look for my available lyric catalog in Media.
To get some idea of my bona fides you can listen to the music you'll find below.

I Want To Bring Hope -- Music by Alexandre Zindel
I Want To Bring Hope -- Music by Alexandre ZindelI Want To Bring Hope Music by Alexandre Zindel https://soundcloud.com/alexandrezindel Lyrics by Stanfield Major I want to bring hope to people. I want to bring people to hope. There is so much that could bring us together. We can do so much more than just cope. I know. I know how hard. I know how hard it can be, but I'm reaching out. Will you, will you do it? Will you reach out to me so we can see what can be? There can be a future, but we'll have to fight for it... the dragons of hatred and greed don't die easily. But we can do this, we can defeat them, we can do this, will you do this with me? I want to bring hope to people. I want to bring people to hope. There is so much that could bring us together. We can do so much more than just cope. I know. I know how hard. I know how hard it can be, but I'm reaching out. Will you, will you do it? Will you reach out to me so we can see what can be? Don't look to leaders. Look deep inside. Own your own strength. Own your own pride. Let's bring hope to people. Let's bring people to hope. There is so much that could bring us together. We can do so much more than just cope.

I'm Running Out of Tears (Song For Santa Fe, TX)I'm Running Out Of Tears Verse 1: Another man has snapped watching children play with a weapon in his hand; those children died today. I don't know what to do, but we've got to think of something... that's the one thing I know is true. Cause I'm... Chorus: tired of all this pain. When will these murders end? It's been going on for years. Today it came again. I'm running out of tears. I'm running out of tears. I'm running out of tears. I'm running out of tears. Overton WindowThe Overton window, also known as the window of discourse, is the range of ideas tolerated in public discourse. The term is derived from its originator, Joseph P. Overton. According to Overton's description, his window includes a range of policies considered politically acceptable in the current climate of public opinion, which a politician can recommend without being considered too extreme to gain or keep public office. Overton Window Verse 1: I have this idea, but no one will listen. I'm having thoughts of a world that could be. We could end war and focus on loving. But nobody ever listens to me. Verse 2: I have this idea, let's stop living for money, let's live for people, help them be all they are. We could raise children to care about others. Why did the room go suddenly dark? Chorus: Who built the frame for this Overton Window? When I crack it open it falls with a thud. I'm tryin' to see out of this Overton Window, but it's all covered up with brown smears of mud. Verse 3: Nothing is certain till the moment it happens. And if we work for it all... it just might come true. So I want to work to make the world better, to open the window and take in the view. Repeat Chorus: Music by Oorlab. Lyrics by smajor.

Bridge: I don't know about you, but this is not the world I envisioned. I wanted a world in which people cared. Chorus 2: They wanna squeeze a little mo' money, a little mo' money, they wanna squeeze a little mo' money outta me. They wanna squeeze a little mo' money outta you and me. Chorus 3: They wanna squeeze a little mo' money, a little mo' money, they wanna squeeze a little mo' money outta you and me. LiesCreated on ProCollabs.com. MonkeyC wrote the music. TamTamAmsterdam and Stanfield Major wrote the lyric. Abstract sang the lead. TamTamAmsterdam sang the Rap break. [Verse 1] People thinking that they live in a democracy The sheeple, they keep on casting the vote So naive, they just don't know That you and I, have got them by their throats [Prechorus] They buy our bullshit every day Why would we ever give this game away? [Chorus] I'm not afraid to bend the truth I'm not afraid to tell you lies Your secrets safe with me you see I'm not afraid to lie You want the truth well you won't find it here I don't why you try I've always made it very clear I'm not afraid to lie Lead: Why would we give this, game away? [Verse 2] Your secrets safe with me you'll see 'Cause I'm not afraid to lie 'Cause if I get a piece of your pie I'm more than willing to spread your lies I'm more than willing to spread I'm more than willing to spread, your lies [Rap break] Man I'd call you a jackass But there's an elephant in the room You tell me that he's full of Bullshit But then look at you Doc says you killin' my son he's all full of lead From the straight shots of h2o to the head And I heard they killed cancer but nobody would talk about it Well money told me its cause nobody'd profit off it Obviously it's only the profitable that offer a proper proposition to purchase a politician To shit in the pot I piss in And don't even flush And tell me that you run for me And don't even rush It's like you saying I'm irrelevant You don't care how I feel Cause you think I ain't voting for the elephant Well now look who's president Stomping over everything and everyone Having fun reaping all the benefits And you could have prevented The saga before the genesis but you Manipulated the vote Like it doesn't exist [Prechorus] So now you gonna have to miss a term Till next time, you can go and "Feel the Burn" It's the days of our lives The clock just keeps ticking Listen I'm done with all you politicians Lead: They buy our bullshit every day Lead: Why would we ever, give this, game away? [Chorus] You're from some corporation Me, I'm just a political hack Your secret's safe with me you see Why would we ever give this game away? [Ending] Lies lies lies Lies lies lies Eat these lies lies lies 'Till you die die die I tell you lies lies lies Lies lies lies Eat those lies lies lies Until you die die die
Far AwayOriginal lyrics... I Told The Earth, I Told The Sky Verse 1: I remember when the days were filled with childhood games playin' in the puddles when it rained those days are far away. Verse 2: Years went by and then you looked different to me all at once you were a mystery oh you were someone new. Chorus1: AND I TOLD THE EARTH. I TOLD THE SKY. I WOULD NEVER SAY GOODBYE. Verse 3: I remember when we tried that tentative embrace I read the wonder in your face and felt my body melt. Repeat Chorus 1: AND I TOLD THE EARTH. I TOLD THE SKY. I WOULD NEVER SAY GOODBYE. Bridge: Love was the treasure we were given to hold. Your eyes blazed with diamonds and filled my heart full of gold. Verse 4: Years went by and then we'd talk as day was turning dark walking in that ragged seaside park despite the dying light. Chorus 2: AND TODAY I TOLD THE EARTH. I TOLD THE SKY GOODBYE, MY LOVE. MY LOVE, GOODBYE. Lyrics after the rewrite... Far Away Verse 1: I remember When the days were filled with childhood games Jumpin’ in the puddles When it rained Those days are far away So far away So far… away. Chorus1: I told the earth I told the sky Why did you ever say goodbye? Why did you find your way to the core of me then leave me alone with this mystery? Life goes on and takes its toll I carried you in my soul Chorus2: I told the earth then I told the sky how I yearn for wings how I want to fly they both know I want to touch you once more before I die Those memories of our yesterdays warm my heart remembering how all at once we felt the passion start and though our time was all too brief I still love you from far away Far away So far away So far…
Tom Cat Blues
Tom Cat BluesA song about the suffering of men. Written on the collaboration site Kompoz.com. Jason, the music writer, lives in the U.K. Other participants are scattered through the world. Tom Cat Blues I'd like to be your carpet, darlin', the finest grade.. I wanna be your carpet, honey, the finest grade. Cause if I was your high class carpet, baby, Well maybe I'd get laid. Or I could be your table, darlin', that would be all right. Let me be your table, honey, that would be all right. Cause I know you lay your table, baby, morning, noon, and night. NOW A WOMAN SHE JUST NEED TO SHAKE IT AND SHE GOT MORE FUN THAN SHE CAN EVER USE BUT A MAN NEED A POCKET FULL OF MONEY, SWEET TALK, OR FRIENDS WHO SPREAD THE NEWS. AND IF HE DON'T… HE’S GOT THE TOM CAT BLUES. So take me to the funeral parlor Cause I'm about to die. Take me to the undertaker, honey, cause I’m about to die. Lay me on down in that casket maybe these TOM CAT BLUES'll pass me by. (Chorus) (Caterwauling) Sounds like the TOM CAT BLUES. (More caterwauling) Yeah, those are the TOM CAT BLUES. (Still more caterwauling) Ooooh, he's got 'em bad!
