Social Distortion (and others) covers!
Have you ever clicked on a band profile and it turns out it's just one clown with nothing more than an idea? If not, here you are!
Yeah, sorry about that. And the band name is just something to fill space until we pick a good one.
I'm looking to start a (mostly) Social D cover band. I have bass and vocals covered, but I’d like to be able to switch off vocal duties with at least one other band member, plus having harmonies adds a huge dimension to the songs.
Looking to play songs from all SD eras, though I’m a bigger fan of 1990 on. Gotta throw in a couple classics for the die-hards though.
Age and gender don’t matter. Feel does. The songs are pretty simple, so the feel and the energy has to be right. That said, I think there’s room for injecting a little bit of our own style instead of trying to perfectly reproduce every song. Just as long as it’s not too far out in left field, like don’t go throwing in blast beats or sweep picking, that kind of thing.
Looking to jam once a week, play shows once or twice a month once we’re free from the plague. Generally I just want to 1) have a good time playing some great rock ‘n roll songs that a lot of people know and like 2) keep the footprint small so it opens up more venues 3) reproduce the songs so they’re true to the originals, but with a touch of our own influence.
Full disclosure, I’ve only done backup vocals before, this is me stepping out and doing something new that I’ve wanted to try for a long time. I don't think I'll chase people out of the bar though.
Available after 7 p.m. Sun - Tues, Thurs & Fri, busy on Wed. Saturday is usually negotiable.
Hoping to find people who are interested in making this a committed hobby, are reliable, willing to do homework, and chill. No problem with you being in other projects. And I don’t care what you do booze/420/drug wise, as long as it doesn’t affect your playing or make you a raging twat.
The samples are me playing bass only.
Email me at 6andfive at g m a i l dot com if you’re interested.
