SEEKINGVocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Keyboard.
We need a singer, a second guitarist, and possibly a keyboards player.
We are putting together a band that will cover songs at the intersection of Punk, Mod, New Wave, and Power Pop of primarily the 70s and 80s.
We are putting together a band that will cover songs at the intersection of Punk, Mod, New Wave, and Power Pop of primarily the '70s and '80s.
So far we are rehearsing the following songs:
'A' Bomb in Wardour Street
Away From the Numbers
Down in the Tube Station at Midnight
In The City
In the Crowd
It's Too Bad
Radio Free Europe
So. Central Rain
>Gang of Four:
>The (early) Who:
I Can't Explain
. . . but we'd also like to try material by The Cure, Elvis Costello, Big Star, Talking Heads, The Smithereens, Mission of Burma, The Replacements, Jesus & Mary Chain, early U2, The Pretenders, and many, many others on our way to perhaps writing our own material.
We have a brand new basement rehearsal space with mics and PA system near Morristown, New Jersey, and we are committed to wearing masks, maintaining safe distances, and allowing fresh air to flow freely during these frightening pandemic times.
So far we have guitar, bass, and drums. (Two of us are music educators and the third is a physician.) The three of us are on the 'mature' side (the 70s and 80s were our youth and prime), but you can be of any age as long as you have a passion (and the chops) for that kind of music.
We desperately need a singer, but we are also hoping to find a second guitar player and/or a keyboard player, so if you can do BOTH guitar or keys AND great vocals, so much the better.
You MUST be a seasoned, experienced vocalist. You need to sing like Paul Weller, Robert Smith, Morrissey, Michael Stipe, early Roger Daltrey, Elvis Costello, et al. And you need to sing with power and charisma. If you do, please contact us.
