There are dreams and there are realities. For the band Claimh Solais this is a constant truth that is met with benevolent persistence, willing humility, and unwavering friendship.

It all started on a bus bound for the Winter Symposium in Tampa. With competition in their minds, scholarships at stake, and school honor on the line, the last thing Richard and Eddie expected from their sudden acquaintanceship was the idea of starting a metal band. With other forces at work, they were never meant to win any money to continue down a dead end Classical tutelage; rather, it was the beginning of a fellowship that would lead them down many life lessons. This journey, taken in steps, would be the key to their resolve, and the acknowledgement of their creative potential.

Now able to find common ground of their love for all things classic metal. Richard and Eddie undertook a two year journey refining the art that symbolizes the light of hope from their hearts. With the driving rhythmic energy of Power Metal, the lush harmonic palate of Progressive Metal, the minor melodic sensibility of Dark Metal, and all inspired by a healthy dose of Nerd Culture; Claimh Solais hopes to inspire those in the night to fight on and never lose sight of the light inside.

The band's debut album 'A Horrible Castle Night' is about the story of Dracula. An entity of supreme evil, a yang to the world that can be suppressed but never extinguished. A very real, yet intangible, monster expressed by a trilogy of lyrical contents exploring the loss of innocence, the clash of cultures, and the monster within us all.

With their desire to play live, and a new talented drummer Nelson joining the cause, Claimh Solais hopes to reach as many people as possible. One ear at a time.
