What's Next Over What's Left
What's Next Over What's LeftI've watch you bleed. I've watched you suffer. I know you need to prove a point, but you're not getting tougher I've watched you fall, and I've watched you soak it in I know your tendency to not want to get back up again You're not nearly as alone as you may think and you're not a bother I'm not the only one who wants to see you drop that anchor-weight for shallower waters, but you have to want what's next, instead of settling for what's left. What will you be without the pain that you clutch So sentimental, but it's all a bit too much. Direct attention to the days you've spent and there'll be no question as to where time went. Mercy for madness has a circumscription that, if over stepped, can tend to feel like fiction so people stop asking if there's something wrong That's just who you become to them To them you're a lost cause beyond repair. A pregnant pause. A lack of air. A misplaced phrase. An out-of-phase, illegitimate basket case. A masochist, too contagious to bear It's not that we don't care We just want to see you grow, but you've got to show you know that there's a way out of this hole that you dug yourself in. and that you want to do your best to fight your addiction to the mess. I've watched you bleed. I've watched you suffer. I've watched you fall to prove there's no one tougher But you don't have to bleed. You don't have to suffer. You don't have to anymore.
Spoiler AlertRelax... It doesn't matter. Let's try an experiment, try not to care again put down the burden and walk out the door into nothing Cause that's what matters most Let's stop earning money, and stop buying trash That's ends up in a river after you turn to ash Cause you see, that's what becomes of you, and I know that's coming for me We're insignificant Try as you might, but the world's going to leave you An empty shell again 80 years of life. An eternity of molecules It's all for nothing You can't even imagine a world in its majority state Without your hate. Without your love, Without your pain. Without your joy, without your brain, without you Yeah it's a rattling thought that this is all for naught but once you get past the fact that you'll soon be forgotten The weights start to fall And it's easier to just be you, do what you wanted to do before you caved to the weight of enormous peer pressure Just don't be a dick, but I shouldn't have to say that at all We're insignificant Try as you might, but the world's going to leave you An empty shell again 80 years of life. An eternity of molecules It's all for nothing Try as you might, but the world's going to leave you I think you get it Yeah I think you get it's a liberating thing to stop assigning a meaning to every action to every feeling when the best of us all still face the same fate
