ABOUT
Twee Zangers is Dutch for "two singers". We are a trio* that offers children's shows for libraries and schools, and grown-ups can come to coffeehouses, restaurants, and festivals to see our "regular" shows.
Our children's shows use songs, puppets, and theatrical schtick and general goofiness to entertain kids while sneaking in some learning, too! One very popular element of our kids' shows is the part where Chris draws an instant illustration of characters in the song David is singing. Even the adults like our kid's shows! Library's Story Times, Summer Reading Programs, and other library and school events are our focus, and we played on the children's stage at Mayfest for several years until the chronic mismanagement of their performers caused us to drop that yearly date.
Twee Zangers is: acoustic guitar, electric and acoustic bass, original material and vocal harmonies. Generally, we present our adult shows at coffeehouses, but fill out our calendar with festivals, house concerts, gigs at restaurants, and we do some benefits for causes we care about. All our shows are family-friendly.
It's all about the music! We love to play, and we invite you all to come share the fun!
*Our name should have changed to "three singers", since finding his soulmate Sophie in 2008, David made us a trio - Sophie is a musician too! But the kids are familiar with Twee Zangers, and we just like the silly sound of it, so we will remain Twee Zangers.
