Played through high school marching / concert / percussion ensembles, attended Berklee College of Music - Boston, majoring in Arranging and Composition, I read very well and a sight-reading big band gig is not a problem. 1st and 2nd call drummer for three of the four music contractors in Atlantic City NJ from 1974 to 1992, worked with several high school band programs and percussion sections, and ten years as Principal percussionist in the 85-piece Ruby Mountain Symphony Orchestra, in Nevada. Extensive club / bar / country-club experience and currently active in authentic Civil War drumming. (Unfortunately the "Music Genre" choices on here are limited to only three!)

My earliest influences would be Buddy Rich, Sandy Nelson, Joe Morello and Steve Gadd, although there are many others. I listen to most music and I learn from them all, primarily listening for the interaction in the rhythm section. I should point out that I play the SONG, not just the drums, and by understanding that you'll understand my drumming style.

Other Percussion:

I have two drum sets, a 4-piece Walnut Slingerland "jazz" set that I add pieces to as needed, and a Tama 5-piece for louder and brasher music. I also own a set of Vibes, and a full set of seven Roto-Toms, as well a collection of percussion "toys."
