ABOUT

A long time experienced drummer looking for kindred souls to play alt rock/post-emo/neo-grunge sorta music.Looking for either a full band to join or even start one from scratch.I wanted to continue a project me & some musicians that were all in other bands did on the side called 'Diatribe' that was sorta a cross between RATM & NIN.Very progressive-liberal minded in socio-political sorta subject matter as well as doing sorta concept records using almost sci-fi as well as archetypal imagery. But thats just one of many projects I'd like to give a shot either as mere studio records,or to take out live.

Influences

Everything from Tool to Dido-The Doors-NIN-APC-The Mars Volta-Foo Fighters-melvins-Failure-Year of the Rabbit-Silversun Pickups-Paramore-Flyleaf-Garbbage-The Cure-Portishead-Morcheeba-Massive Attack-Fishbone-of course RUSH,for a drummer it's like required reading,as is Bonham & Zepplin. My favorite drummer is Danny Carey of Tool, then probably Jon Theodore of The Mars Volta-NOT that I play in that sorta style, but they have their influence on what I do.Since breaking my kit down to a 4 piece I've sorta latched onto the playing styles of drummers like Taylor Hawkins of FF,Abe C. of Deftones in particular(especially the way he uses electronics sparingly & very tastefully)same goes for Josh Freese & what he did with 'a perfect circle' as well as touring with NIN.Blue Man Group have one of the most underated alt rock records of ALL time in 'The Complex'-check out the song 'The Current'-'Persona'-'The Shadow pt 2'.The music is heavy, solo's tasty & the subject matter is all Jungian with both male & female guest vocalist & course theyre 3-4 auxillary drummers,synth,2 guitars, bass,& them 3 doing their things.I reccomend seeing the live dvd-'how to become a rockstar',or at least checking some of it out on you tube.Like Tracy Bonham doing their song 'up to the roof'.I'm 'TheSoulcraft' on there as well,'Mindzeye' on my space & a Voyage 2 infinity at hot mail.
