Band to Join.

I'm a versatile, musical drummer. I like to focus on the groove and play as simply as the music allows me to. I'm a very dynamic player who is capable of playing whisper quiet, all the way up to arms-over-my-head cymbal cracking.

I learn and arrange music very quickly, and can chart/read/learn an average of 5-10 songs a week. I also am an experienced improviser/jammer, and can pick up changes and stops on the fly, so I'm a good sub. My legit reading skills, though rusty, are still pretty good.

I like to think of my approach to playing the drums as a musician whose instrument happens to be the drums, rather than that of a drummer. I tend to listen a lot, I'm very concerned with great drum and cymbal tone, I care about the overall mix and production of the band, and I am not shy about offering production opinions when appropriate.

I am NOT looking for a touring or full-time gig. I love making music for the pure joy of making music. I don't care if I get paid as long as I'm doing something that makes people dance or sing along. I'm equally at home with covers and originals.

I love old soul, funk, r&b, blues, rock, hip-hop, and all the variants. I've been told I'm an old soul in terms of my musical personality, and I am totally happy just playing the beat all night.
