I am attempting to venture into music production. I am new to it and I have spent the past year trying to catch up on current technology. I have an analytical mind towards music rather than a special gift or talent with an instrument. I became infatuated with music at the age of 18 and learned music theory at that time in college, but never really did anything with it.

Influences
I do not like current Rap or Hip Hop. However, I have a natural tendency to produce that type of sound, as I grew up heavily influenced by 80's West Coast Rap, before Bob Marley flipped me upside down, which prompted me to enthusiastically explore nearly every genre since about the 50's. I love 60's and 70's Soul music. The Beatles also blew me away as a young adult. I do not feel that any one genre is better than the next, only different, and a reflection of the culture that it came from

EQUIPMENT
MacBook Pro laptop with GarageBand. A few other basic things not really worth mentioning. I have not yet spent much money on any real equipment but that will change drastically in the near future, as I plan on learning the things the equipment will be used for first, in terms of music production.
