ABOUT

Splitter Conspiracy is a genre bending project that’s original intent was set on experimental soundscapes and evolved into full-on songs with heart beats and meaning.

The project is the brain child of multi-instrumentalist Matthew Koller and influenced by his love of 70’s soft rock, new wave, Brit pop, art rock, and trip hop. Artist influences include but not limited to Inxs, Peter Gabriel, Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, Pulp, Talking Heads, Pink Floyd and Massive Attack.

Koller has spent his musical career as a drummer for rock and pop bands in the Midwest and west coast as well as a Modern Dance accompanist at Arizona State University and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Splitter Conspiracy’s debut effort this is the year, marks Koller’s first effort as songwriter and major creative force. Koller adds that “creating the record was a great learning experience. A lot of trial, error and hope for the best. I’m satisfied with the result.”

The lyrical content on this is the year centers around the human condition covering topics including mental health, dysfunctional relationships, spirituality and loss. When asked about where the inspiration for the lyrics came from, Koller replied simply with “you write what you’re familiar with.”

Koller is constantly writing new material and looks forward to another release in 2023.
