SEEKING
Band to Join, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Other Percussion, Violin, Keyboard, Other.ABOUT
Seeking bandmates more for the purpose of aesthetic and recreational pleasure than for paying gigs. Interested in progressive and electronic music, emphasis on instrumental over vocal music. I've been playing alone for 20 years and look forward to joining others for the first time. I can make up for any lack of proficiency with plenty of enthusiasm!
Current practice sets include: Ultravox/Vienna, David Bowie/Low, selected Steve Hackett lead guitar instrumentals, King Crimson/Red/Larks Tongues in Aspic, Love and Rockets/Express, Pink Floyd/UmmaGumma (the live set c1969), The Wedding Present/George Best

Influences
70s Progressive Rock, i.e. King Crimson, Genesis, ELP, etc.
70s/80s Jazz Fusion, i.e. Mahavishnu Orchestra, Pat Methany, Jean-Luc Ponty, etc.
70s/80s Punk, New Wave, Alternative Rock, i.e. the list is endless and mostly obscure now
90s to present electronica generally, i.e. Underworld, Orbital, Sasha, etc.
I am also laboring under the influence of my familiarity with Jazz and Classical musics.
Guitar influences: Robert Fripp, Steve Hackett, John McLaughlin
EQUIPMENT
I very much enjoy my Brownsville Choirboy semi-hollowed body electric guitar despite the ridiculous name. For standard play this is put through a stereo Chorus pedal combined with a compression/sustainer. Generally I turn the depths all the way up and the rates all the way down.
I also very much enjoy my vintage Roland GR-1 guitar synthesizer. This is a device whose full potential I have yet to realize but it is incredible!
