Love all types of music, but the blues is by far my passion. Picked up the blues harp when I was about 10 or 12 years old, borrowed my step-fathers "harmonica". Self taught, and unfortunately I cannot read music... I play what feels right.
Was lead singer and played the harp for a blues band out of Austin Texas called The Blue Plate Special. We were able to pick up many gigs and even played the ROT Ralley. Good group of guys, blues just wasn't the passion of all those involved as some wanted to primarily be a Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute band which seemed a bit too much like what everyone in Austin Texas does. I longed for the dirty/grungy heart tearing sound of the blues... still do.
