I'm a comeback trumpet player (also flugelhorn); started playing again seventeen years ago after a 35 year hiatus; one of the founding and long-time members of the Swing Docs, a well known big band in the Albany, NY area; began organizing and leading FIVE+1, a jazz sextet, fourteen years ago. Each band had 15-20 gigs a year for the past few years. I'm a biomedical scientist and, when not playing jazz, was the former Director of the Center for Neuropharmacology and Neuroscience at Albany Medical College. I retired last year and moved to the Tampa area (Lutz) this past June. I’m now looking for people to play with (preferably jazz combo and/or big band), and would be interested in starting a new combo if there’s enough interest.
