I never got to play in jazz band during high school or college, but love jazz and have developed a good ear in the past 60 years of cornet/trumpet playing. I fake well by ear and love relaxed progressive and dixieland jazz. Ruby Braf was my favorite player, but Chet Baker, Bobby Hackett were my favorites.

Influences
Ruby Braf, Bobby Hacket, Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, Al Hirt, the Dukes of Dixieland, Bob Crosby, and many others entertain me. When I heard Louis Armstrong paly at around age 4, I wanted to play cornet/trumpet. By 8 years of age, my dad bought a used cornet from a pawn shop for me, and I began playing, pretending to be Louis, but no where close to his skill. I love lyrical, relaxed songs pleyed in an ensemble.
