ABOUT

My music is rooted in the blues, but my taste has since been so influenced by funk, rock, reggae, jam, and jazz that you wouldn't really call it blues anymore. I like to call it RiverFunk.

I'm currently in the band LTC, or Levitating Train Committee, and have been for many years, but am interested in expanding musically and would like to find others to collaborate with, whether that means playing for fun, playing to gig, playing to record, collaboratively writing, or finding others to help expand LTC's sound.

I'm open, feel free to contact me with any ideas!

Influences

Originally I was influenced by many of the great blues guitarists, such as Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, & Eric Clapton. Soon after I fell in love with other artists out of the blues realm, but still classics, like Santana, Pink Floyd, DMB, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, and quite a few more for a long time.

I then discovered Phish, who has influenced me and my playing style more than anything, though my writing style remained quite different. With a new appreciation for improvisation I fell in love with Jazz: John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Wes Montgomery, Stan Getz, and really love the more modern fusion jazz stylings of Medeski, Martin, & Wood, and John Scofield.. both together and alone, and other artists like them (I listen to a lot of Pandora, but rarely know who I'm even listening too, I just like it)

Other artists that I enjoy and have taken influence from include The Talking Heads, David Bowie, Daft Punk, Modest Mouse, Ween, The Flaming Lips, Pearl Jam, Jimi Hendrix, Keller Williams, Radiohead, The Grateful Dead, Wilco, Trampled By Turtles, Yonder Mountain, CSNY, and of course more...

EQUIPMENT

I own quite a few guitars - but my primary guitar is a Greg Bennett Series Avion. I manipulate my sound using a series of different pedals and amplify through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe II Tube Amp.

I also have two speakers/monitors, a mixer, and all of the appropriate cables. And a banjo that I am not fluent on, but like to mess around with.
