ABOUT

We are a local Hip Hop/Rock/Jam Band in the Tampa Bay area and we've been playing for about a year now, gaining notoriety for our unique style of meshing various genres together, our ability to put on a great performance on stage, and our strong message that we portray thru our music. Unfortunately our lead guitarist has just informed us that he will be moving back home to Texas come January 2010 but being that we've already started to create a buzz for ourselves it would be senseless to break up the band which leads me to this posting.

What we're looking for is someone who for one, has musical talent and is versatile in his playing ability. Even though some try to classify us the truth of the matter is that you can't really put a name on what we do. Our music varies from classic to modern rock, heavy metal to experimental, hip hop to blues, funk, soul, r&b, reggae, and so on and so on. We like to incorporate as many different styles as we can in order to provide people with something that they've never experienced before and people who've heard us play dig it. We all know that people are tired of hearing the same ol' thing so when you can do something that's new and innovative yet people can still relate to, you're bound for success. But success doesn't come without drive. That's another key thing we're looking for in a new guitarist. Right now, we're still trying to establish ourselves more and more and hit up as many different venues as we can. Now, ideally we all have personal lives(jobs, school, girlfriends, whatever) but at the end of the day you have to want to make this thing work which is why we need someone who's willing to go the extra mile and put everything they have into this band. We have an immense amount of potential. Every single one of the players in our band has more than enough talent and drive to take us to that next level but like the old saying goes, a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. Therefore there is no particular "leader" in this band, because we all step up to the plate and do what it is that we need to do to keep this thing rolling.

As far as what some of our requirements are, like I stated before we need a guitarist who is versatile and can play numerous genres. We also need someone who can sing. I actually do the bulk of the vocals as far as the rapping goes but we also need someone who can do backups, and who can also take the stage and do lead vocals in some of the songs. We need someone who can practice as much as possible. Typically, band rehearsals are Sunday from 12-6 but we also get together on saturdays and during the week as much as possible. I understand everyone has personal lives and what not but the more we practice, the better we'll be so you're availability will definitely be key. Another key requirement that I'm looking for is someone who is creative and can write songs and come up with new material. If you can't be creative and unique you'll never get nowhere in the music industry. As of right now, we have about 12 songs that are established and you will learn but with that being said we're looking for someone to put their own twist on what we already have and be able to move forward with us. We all are constantly writing music parts, lyrics, riffs, etc and we need someone who can come to the forefront and expand our steady growing repertoire of music. Not only are we looking for someone who knows music and can play but we need someone who can feel the music and jam with us. There's a million guitarists out there who can play chords but unless you "feel the music" it's pointless and would definitely never work in our band. Also, we need you to have your own equipment. We've all had to bust our ass and work for what we got and nothing in this band(or in this world for that matter) will just be given to you. So you need to have your own guitars, amps, heads, stacks, pedals, or whatever else it is you need to perform and be a productive member of this band. We have PA's, mics, chords, and all that good stuff but you definitely need to supply what you need to be our lead guitarist.

Once again, we're all about changing up the game and trying to do something thats never been done before while having fun at the same time. Although we're all here to "make it" one day and become professional musicians we also need to have fun while we're doing it cause if you don't love what you're doing, you'll never reach your fullest potential. I only hope we can find someone who can come in and become one of us so that way we can keep it moving and take this world by surprise!!! If you have any questions or if you're genuinely interested in joining our team than you can either e-mail me at the address listed above or you can call me at 813-298-9057. My name is Elgin or you can call me Knowledge which is my stage name. Whatever you feel more comfortable with is cool with me. Also, if you want to check out our band page to get a little bit better of an undertsanding for who we are and what it is we do the link is ./stereotype813. Thank you for your interest and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
