ABOUT
The music "genre" selections for Bandmix musicians are typical for the musically "narrow" crowd who made up this list. I play the fiddle, Cajun Accordion (10 button diatonic), Mandolin, Guitar, and Bass (electric and upright acoustic). The fiddle is my main instrument and I play many different "genres" including, Old-Time Appalachian music, Bluegrass, Cajun, Western Swing and Texas-style, Early Country / Hillbilly, and Gypsy Jazz. My Cajun Accordion style is "traditional" Cajun and Creole. I teach music lessons on all the instruments I play. I have a band called the "Bayou Hot Shots" based in Houston, TX that plays traditional Cajun. Please visit our website at .bayouhotshots to learn all about the band, listen to our music, and see our videos. I also have an Old-Time String Band that plays Old-Time southern Appalachian mountain music and early traditional bluegrass music, and Texas Swing. Please visit our website at .laughinglizardsband. In 2005 I toured with an internationally renown folk singer Glenn Yarbrough and played six different instruments in his "back-up" band. He has recorded over 80 albums in his career. I have recorded several CD's with my own band and with other artists. One of my CD's that I made with the renowned Creole accordion player, Mr. Goldman Thibodeaux from Lawtell, Louisiana was considered for a Grammy Nomination in 2008 in the Cajun/Zydeco category. Another of my CD's with my Bayou Hot Shots band was nominated for "Best First CD" by the Cajun French Music Assocation of Louisiana in 2009. Additionally, a CD that I made with a Cajun band out of Iota, LA (Richard Miller and the Musical Playboys) is currently on the play list of KBON-FM 101.1 & internet in Eunice, LA. I have taught fiddle at national music camps and performed at these camps. I have won many fiddle contests over the years.

EQUIPMENT
A lamp, remote control, paddle ball thing, ash tray, chair, "that's all I need." Seriously, my favorite piece of equipment is a one-hundred foot heavy duty extension cord that's been with me for years. It has seen several quadrillion coulombs pass through its copper molecules. It has supplied power for everything from weed-eaters to 1000 W. amplifiers. That's says it all! Get yourself one....you won't regret it.
