EQUIPMENT

I am set up to work with your drummer to give you a solid rhythm section.

I use the following:

Fender "Precision Bass" (circa 1971)

Custom made, short neck, single pickup bass guitar (for string bass sound)

Fender "300 Bass" head. (Circa 1980, 300 watt, solid state, fan cooled, studio type)

"TNT Bass" head. (125 watt, all tubes, 2 channel, circa 1967. Nice tube pre-amps into four 6L6GC output tubes)

"Behringer BX4500". (New style 450 watt all solid state bass head with an additional custom designed limiter/compressor system),

and other custom tube and solid state amplifiers as needed.

For speaker systems, I select from:

"Fender V.T. Bassman 15" (This is a 2 X 15" cabinet equipped with custom LF drivers capable of producing a nice "pipe organ like" low end).

"AMPEG SVT 8 X 10 Classic". This is the traditional cabinet with the eight 10 inch drivers. (You know what this sounds like.)

A matched pair of "JBL 4648A-8" systems. These are ported 2 X 15" enclosures with two very efficient JBL 2226JPL 15" drivers in each. These are capable of producing the high sound pressure levels required to work large venues. (See the JBL 4000 series webpage).

"Acoustic 360" folded horn cabinet fitted with an Electrovoice "SRO" driver for that unique "woody/midrange" timbre that these cabinets are famous for.

And other horn loaded, ported, or sealed cabinets as needed.
