ABOUT

We are an established band who write, record, and perform original music. As a side project, we will be performing 80s hair/pop metal as a cover band. Our primary focus will still be on our original music and performing that music but the 80s cover band project will allow us to play full, 3-4 set gigs and allow for added exposure. We are looking to hire a new drummer who is capable of committing to a weekly rehearsal and gigging a couple times per month.

Our music is melodic rock with lots of vocal harmonies, acoustic and electric guitars, and the occasional piano/strings/sequencer. The 80s cover band project will cover bands like Def Leppard, Ratt, Damn Yankees, Boston, Warrant, Poison, Duran Duran, and the like.

Outside of Still October, we are also available to perform sound production for local bands. We have a professional quality 32-channel PA system complete with a wide variety of mics, front of house speakers, monitors, and effects. Contact Tom for further information.

Influences

We vary in age from the mid 20s thru mid 30s so our influences are quite wide ranging. Our original music is sort of a cross between Vertical Horizon, John Mayer, and Nickelback or at least along those lines.

Individually, each of us has our own influences. As a guitar player, I grew up listening to the shredders of the 80s as well as guys like SRV and Eric Johnson. My biggest influences are Randy Rhoads, George Lynch, John Petrucci, Steve Lukather, and Neal Schon.

EQUIPMENT

Each of us has completely professional gear. We own our own 32 channel PA system and a complete, ProTools recording studio. Every instrument and piece of gear is top notch and we are capable of being a self-sufficient band with no need to pay for sound production or recording time.
