ABOUT

First of all, how do you describe Stillborne music? They like to say they are Alternative Metal, meaning they have hard, in your face music BUT with the melodic vocals that are often known to be missing in todays commercialized music scene. Stillborne came together on February of 2005 after two other bands broke up, Deaden and The Fold. Both bands had a great local following but internal conflicts ended both bands. Knowing each other since junior high, Ernie (lead guitarist) and Isaac (drummer) decided to stick together and continue writing material. At this time, it was found out that The Fold had disbanded and decided to invite Matt (lead vocals) of The Fold for some jam sessions. Without even having a bass player or even a name yet, 3 songs were made. After a few days, the band name became alive, coming up with Stillborne, not to be confused with stillborn, meaning a baby born dead, but they had a different twist and meaning towards Stillborne, no matter what problems would arise, they would "Still be borne" This is how the name came about. No matter what the reason, everything is still meant to be Stillborne. After a few weeks, the first show was played. Not having the results they expected, that led them to devote even more time, dedication and willingness to make it work. After going back and forth with a couple of different bass players, they decided to invite the old Deaden bass player and old junior high friend, Israel to the line up. Also, feeling the need to expand more creatively and musically, the second guitarist was added, also another high school friend, Rey. After only a couple of months of getting together, Stillborne found themselves winning various Battle of the Bands competitions around the valley and taking home 1st place. After months of work, it was decided to record their first self-titled 4-song EP at a local studio which had recorded the previous Deaden and The Fold EP's. After it's long-awaited and anticipated release, it has been a known local favorite in the area. Stillborne are still in the writing process and are working on a full length album that will be out in a couple of months. "We know that by working hard, writing the best music possible, and putting the best shows possible, we WILL accomplish what we got together for, to 'make it' one day and be the next big thing." -Stillborne
