John Petrucci/Match the Master excerptsI recorded these ten rather 'raw' excerpts (in video form)as part of a contest, via Ernie Ball, called 'Match the Master,' wherein contestants play certain riffs and licks from Dream Theater's new album The Astonishing. I put twists on all, and while some were recorded hastily, I was excited to reconnect with certain elements of my chops I hadn't used in years!
To watch the videos while doing me a solid favor, go to my channel on the Ernie Ball site (link below), watch the videos, and share with your buddies on Facebook, Twitter, etc. That's how I get points and win and secretly replace John Petrucci in Dream Theater. Duh.
Erebus Fantasia for Guitar and Orchestra2012 studio recording of Erebus, Fantasia for Orchestra and Guitar, performed by the Univ. of Missouri Symphony. Erebus was commissioned by the MU Music Dept. as part of the award for winning the Sinquefield Composition Competition. Say THAT three times fast. Performed in 2011 with the Orchestra at the annual MU Chancellor's Concert. Surreal, for sure. Adrenaline, son.
Orange CountyWrote this tune for MU Jazz's 2013 annual CD, 'Home: The Columbia MO Sessions, Vol. 1.' My buddy Paolo comps on the recording, because I was in Ireland playing Bluegrass. For REALS. I recorded the solo (just after 4 minutes on the recording) when I got back. Byron Stripling was the guest artist on the CD, and his tastiness is the solo after mine!
