ABOUT
Greetings:
I've been playing piano/keyboards most of my life (starting with piano lessons at age 10) and moved to Venice, FL in 2017. I had to leave two cover bands that I was in back in Massachusetts. I've had the opportunity to cover everything from the Beatles to Steely Dan, with the Allman Brothers, some Motown, Elvis Costello and a bunch of others thrown in for good measure. I like the blues and jam tunes as well. Anything that gets folks up and moving.
I consider myself moderately accomplished, although my music reading skills are a bit slow - I typically figure things out by ear or search the web. I also sing lead and back up harmonies if you would like some support there. I have my own equipment and am serious about playing, but not in an obnoxious way. It should be accurate and correct, but also allow some freedom to cut loose a bit. Music is a collaboration, yes? I'm a team player and enjoy learning from others.
I'm a stable married guy with no drug or drinking issues and still work full time as a civil/structural engineer. So playing in a band is not a money thing for me - it's my out from regular life and gives me a chance to enjoy something that I love.
