I have been a professional drummer for most of my adult life, however, as most of us do from time to time I have been on a self imposed sabbatical from playing/performing for about six years now. I was with a successful original band in the Seattle market for 10 years averaging more than 100 shows per year from bar gigs to major festivals. Our style was acoustic/folk/funk/bluegrass inspired with a lot improvisational stuff.

As far as my style of drumming goes, I am very much a pocket player. I do not enjoy playing drum solos although I am more than comfortable moving around my kit. I focus on what a song or piece of music is asking for in terms of a drum track/groove. I am comfortable and proficient in most genres of music but my style tends to lean toward anything with some funk grooves, bluegrass, rock, blues, dynamic range, etc. I am not a metal drummer or hard rock drummer. Just not my thing. I

What I am looking for: I have a full time career that demands a lot of my time and energy and I am not looking for a regular gig/touring band. I would like to find some other players that are proficient at their instruments that have a similar mind set about playing music. I'm good with weekly rehearsals/jams and occasional gigs. I'm just past the point of wanting to be a busy rock star, lol.
