Sweet Virginia is a unique Rolling Stones revue currently in need of a secondary rhythm/lead guitar player. A hand-picked selection of seasoned musicians influenced by Blues, Soul, R&B, and Rock 'n Roll have been assembled to perform songs from the Rolling Stones' catalogue, focusing on the years 1968-1978, which many believe to be the most experimental era of the Stones' music. Indeed, more than 60% of Sweet Virginia's set list is comprised of songs that the Rolling Stones themselves rarely, if ever, played in concert. This project is new and has been in development for about a year. Bookings have already begun for 2010, and we have performed locally in Fresno and the Central Coast. We are booking out of town venues so please keep in mind that some travel is required. Practices are generally once a week on Fridays unless there is a gig. Practice facility is in Fresno at a local professional recording studio. This is not a big money making band, (yet), so all candidates should keep in mind that we are in the early stages of introducing Sweet Virginia, and that this is a COMPLETE 12 piece band. Everyone in the band is laid back, easy going, casual weekend partiers but first and foremost we are all (to some extent) ex-professional musicians and very serious about the music.
