ABOUT

Fifty-four year old bass player looking to form, or join a reggae/ska band. I’m currently in a band project playing classic rock and blues, and some reggae. I’d love to get a strictly roots or Cali style reggae band together as well. The band I’m currently in has a percussionist who’s also into reggae. I have all my own gear, transportation, hair (what I haven't shaved), and teeth (bought & paid for anyway). I can still grimace musically. Contact TD Skully. I'm like Motel 6, I'll leave the light on for you. Serious inquiries only.

It's a JOKE...RELAX!! :)

In all seriousness though, I've played bass and in bands for several years since I was in high school. I sang lead in a few bands, but my voice isn't what it once was. I took a long hiatus after my last band broke up suddenly. I sold all my gear and went and got a college degree (non-music related), and a new career. I did not play at all for several years. You never really stop playing forever. I've been back into it for about three years now. My chops are finally getting back to actually better than they were before.

Rush, Santana, Journey, (both pre-Steve Perry and after), Kansas, Queen, Living Colour, Metallica (most metal '80's to present) Rival Sons, The Black Crowes, Robbin Trower, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Johnson, Godsmack, Alice in Chains (most grunge bands), Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many many more. I like to listen to jazz music, and several different genres.

My reggae influences include Bob Marley, Ziggy Marley, Stephen Marley, Damian Marley, Ini Kamoze, Katchafire, Rebelution, Dirty Heads, 311, Sublime, Iration, Stick Figure and several others. If it's got a groove (especially syncopated) I'm all about it. I've mostly been listening to reggae and gotten into hard rock with a bluesy feel lately; however, having grown up and lived in Oklahoma and Texas, I'm a bit worn out on the whole "Southern Rock" thing. I'm not a big fan of country music, but can play it. I prefer the OLD country...like...Marty Robbins old country.
