I have played drums for around 15 years and am self taught. I grew up listening to and playing pop punk and have since grown into alternative rock and blues. I played in a pop/funk band before Covid hit and really enjoyed the dynamic of playing simple beats but transforming them into a song that blends together with the bands style.
