Played in garage bands (classic rock) twenty years ago, decided to take my music to a new level about 7 years ago. Since then, I've had a succession of 4 different teachers, currently working with Professor Manley Mallard, Millikin University. Learning mostly Jazz and blues. Can play some ballads, classic rock, blues, a little jazz. I enjoy improvising against a tasty jazzy blues progression the most.
I'd also enjoy finding a new group, or even individual musicians her in the Des Moines area who are into older classic rock, jazz or blues, with lots of expressive guitar influences . . As long as they are (as am I) dedicated to quality, and adherence to and respect for the original music. There are plenty of opportunities in Des Moines for good musicians.
