Band to Join.ABOUT
I am a vocalist, bass guitarist, guitarist, and lyric writer looking to join a band. I’ve been playing music in various forms for 3/4 of my life so far, and I’d love to continue that. Don’t be turned off by my age; I’m experienced, I’m fairly knowledgeable, and I’m not a flake. I have a full-time day job working with animals, but I’m free most evenings after 3 pm.
My vocal range stretches from the low end of alto to the high end of mezzo soprano, and I have experience singing a variety of musical genres and parts. A good portion of my singing experience has been in stage musicals, so I can hold my own in difficult arrangements or with buried harmonies, but my heart lies in the rock genre for sure. Depending on the band, arrangement, or song, I can alter my singing style to match without losing vocal quality. I’m comfortable with anything from breathing airy and ethereal vocals, to belting strong power ballads, to a good bit of screaming, and most everything in between.
I’ve played guitar and bass in a multitude of genres for a variety of bands over the years, including a couple of make-shift rock bands and cover bands, honor-level competitive jazz ensembles, and concert/marching band arrangements. I can read standard notation, tabs, and chords, and I also play pretty well by ear, as well as improvise decently enough.
I’d like to be a lead vocalist, but it’s also important to mention that I can multitask: I can play guitar or bass and sing lead (or harmonies) at the same time with generally no problem.
