SYL Type Thing
SYL Type ThingI just picked a new toy; a Radial DI Box. So far I am loving it but I still have to work out the kinks in my guitar and bass tones.
Top RamenThis is my first attempt at a mix using Logic Pro X.
Chameleon Mix Test #1
Chameleon Mix Test #1Again, I decided to try out some older gear I had laying around and I found this bad boy: the Rocktron Chameleon 2000. I always dreamed of having one of these when I was a kid and saw them in the old-school Guitar World adverts. This was recorded with my ESP Horizon 7 in drop A, into the Rocktron Chameleon and into my DAW. I am using the Glenn Fricker IR pack for my cabinet emulation. Drums are the Progressive Foundry by Toontrack.
Kartakou Mix Test #2
Kartakou Mix Test #2I recorded this track using the Kartakou Colossus Preamp again but this time I used the Glenn Fricker IR Pack. I used my older Ibanez RG7620 and a Boss SD-1 with the Monte Allums mods.
Kartakou Mix Test #1
Kartakou Mix Test #1This is a quick tone demo. I am working on a few new projects and have spent the last few months really getting my drums and bass to sound right on my monitors in the new house. I am overall very happy with the drums and bass but wanted to take the time to get a solid foundation for a rhythm guitar tone. Anyway's.. a few years ago I found Vasili Kartakou. He hand-built me a Colossus Preamp... which is modeled after the old school Peavey 5150s. I promised him a demo of the preamp some time ago and... hear it is... better late than never. This is an outstanding preamp that sounds great. I have ran it through a bunch of different rigs over the last few years and it sounds fantastic through each and every one. So for the details on this demo - my recording chain: -Ibanez RG7620 with EMG 7/81 in bridge (Tuned to drop A) -Modded Boss SD-1 (TS-9) -Kartakou Colossus -VHT 2:50:2 Power Amp -Orange 2x12 Cabinet -Shure/Greneli SM57 -Focusrite Saffire Pro 40
