Am focusing strongly on bass. I plan to be garage band jamming inside of 3 months (barring coronavirus extension) & doing some gigs inside of 6 months.
Historically, I've primarily focused on original music for most of the ~40 years since I started on bass (later taking up guitar too).
I'm not really keen to gig playing cheesy covers at the moose or elks, some of my friends went that route and little ever came of it. There has got to be another way to do this and still enjoy it.
The solo you hear here is from some 1990's studio work, that's me on everything but drums. I also play more mellow stuff as well and have done some guest work on electric and acoustic lead guitar, as well as electric bass in rock and folk genres.

My sound/style has been described as:
"Steve Vai on acid..."
"A young George Lynch..."
"Metal's Leslie West."
Probably not matched up to any bassists, as I don't really sound like anyone else on bass... Maybe Geezer Butler? IDK.

I have no plans to wear leather jeans or paint my face, but if we're going to be the next GWAR... lol... who knows.
I got a great sense of humor and a vivid imagination, so write me if it involves an original project - idc if you're an 18 year old kid with a deathcore metal band, punk or a jaded old guy.
I'm willing to explore possibilities and enjoy jamming with other musicians, even if it never leaves the garage!!
I'm not looking to be the primary vocalist, unless it's for one (or a half) set (out of three?). I can do vocals in the range of The Doors, Meat Loaf or STP (all of which I'm decent at).
My guitar playing is solid, but primarily for my own enjoyment, barring I meet some SUPREMELY CHILL AND COOL PEOPLE. Then I might consider doing a few solos here and there. You can do the noodling for the drunk groupies!
Solo - The Monkey's Paw
Solo - The Monkey's Paw Track number: 1 Year: 1990 Album: In your Face - by The Unwilling Subjects Genre: Metal
This is the solo portion of a relatively heavy, hard rock/metal song, from some studio work in 1990. This is me on everything but drums (which are by JON SWABY), first-take, every instrument. We recorded the rhythm guitar and drums track, then I went back and tracked the bass and leads over those. Barely rehearsed - one 90 minute session by the drummer and I prior to recording 5 songs. Most of what I play these days is significantly more mellow. Additionally, I'm mostly playing bass now - although I will play guitar if asked. Most people want to hear me play lead guitar. I use very few effects: Rarely, I'll use the Morley power wah from this recording. Song and riffs are copyrighted. You are welcome to cover, but give credit where due.
