ABOUT

I'm a 24 year old guitarist, keyboardist, singer, and songwriter looking to add a drummer and additional instrumentalist to my indie/art rock project called "Ten and Six". You can listen to (and download) the debut, self-titled EP here:

The style of the debut album is predominantly a folk-influenced "art" pop with some indie leanings toward groups like Sunset Rubdown, St. Vincent, Andrew Bird, Destroyer, etc.

However, in writing the upcoming full-length record, I've moved toward a sound that is more live, raw, and incorporates not only significant improvisation, but also elements of electronic rock, experimental, and progressive jazz music, while keeping a strong "pop" melodic sense (a group like Dungen is somewhat akin to the sound I'm looking for). Although I am a multi-instrumentalist (I played all of the instruments on the EP apart from drums), my main instrument of 10 years is electric guitar, my style being fundamentally improvisational and influenced by guitarists such as Marc Ribot, Nels Cline, Bill Frisell, Reine Fiske, Ira Kaplan, and others of that ilk.

Thus, I'm looking for musicians who share an enthusiasm for improvisation, experimentation, effects, etc. in addition to artsy rock and pop that, though having a strong melodic foundation, utilizes more complex/interesting song structures and arrangements. Ultimately, I'd like to record a full-length LP with this lineup and be gigging heavily with hopes of touring, locally and then nationally. If you're interested, you can respond via Bandmix.
