I lead a jazz quartet (tenor and soprano sax, guitar, upright bass, drumset) and looking to expand into a quintet with the addition of a piano player. We play straight-ahead jazz with a funky, avante-garde style, and our repertoire includes original tunes as well as the music of Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Eddie Harris, Stanley Turrentine, Freddie Hubbard, and Steely Dan just to name a few. This is a serious project, and I'm seeking a pianist who's reliable, has their own gear, is comfortable with reading charts, and is competent with jazz, gospel, and funk styles. Interested?
