ABOUT

I'm wanting to start a band (or join one). I've been a musician as long as I can remember and I've been in three or so small garage bands, of which only one lasted long enough to get a name and didn't make it much further than that.

I'm a percussionist. I love to drum, but I'm also in the middle of learning acoustic guitar while I'm at college because I figured why not?

I've written a few things, but I'm not sure if they could be considered songs. They're words that have no tune. At least not one specific one. I'm not a singer by a long shot, but I do help write. I have a creative mind and don't think I'm willing to stand by and play songs that don't have a twist of me in them. I want to work on my songwriting skills and I hope to be able to help in the writing of song lyrics as much as the writing in music (because I will not stop with basic guitar skills).

I think it's about time I started (or joined) bands for real, not just for fun, instead of just jumping into other people's half formed ideas. I want to find a group of musicians who all get along and who're as serious about making music as I am. I want to make a difference to someone. I want to be someone's favorite band. I want to something inspiring. I want to find a group to be a part of that wants the same. I want to find a group that I'd put college on hold for.

Of course, I'm also tired of playing alone. If you're ever looking for someone to just hang out with, just lemme know. We don't have to talk Serious Band Business. I think it would be really cool if I wasn't the only musician I knew in the area.

If you're up for talking something out, feel free to lemme know with an email to halebrowumail.iu.edu. We can jam sometime and see if it works.

I'm planning on starting up a be channel in the spring to post videos of covers and such on, so I'll update once I get closer to being able to do that.

I'm just a blue haired college kid who can't see herself anywhere except making music for the rest of her life.

If you're looking for a guitarist as well, I have a friend who loves playing the guitar and would jump into a band no problem.

Influences

Really it just depends, there isn't really anything I don't like and I think that shows in the music I like to make, but for the most part it's bands like Green Day and My Chemical Romance as well as A Day To Remember, All Time Low, Pierce The Veil, Paramore (but the older stuff from the first three albums), Panic! At The Disco, Get Scared, Sleeping With Sirens, Our Last Night, Fall Out Boy, The Used, Ghost Town, Saosin, Black Veil Brides, Memphis May Fire, Crown The Empire, Motionless In White, Set It Off, Icon For Hire, etc.
