ABOUT

The Dictionary

Just can't forget father choking mother, and I can't remember the first time I...But I'd like to be remembered for the music we create, something unforgettable.

Starting a BAND!

M.C. Influences:

De La Soul, Nas, Mos Def, Outkast, Brand Nubian, Rakim.

Would like us to sound like:

S.O.A.D. and Non Point with some Crystal Castles, and Prefuse 73, laced with a bit of Mogwai scented Radiohead, infused with some Sam Cooke, and Etta James, tightly wrapped in a shell of James Brown, and sprinkled with some Scentric and The Sounds, executive produced by Wim Mertens and DJ Premier.

I am an M.C. I am a Virgo. I want to conduct an ongoing experiment in sound combination, but nothing temporary. I am moody, but if you like me, you'll love me, therefore I want our music to be moody, ever changing, revolution and evolution. I desire to make songs with an epic symphonic sound that build slowly with rolling drums tracks and meaningful vox. I want to make melodious yet metallic music that is groove oriented. I believe that a good style to add to this would be something jazzy with a 60's soul foundation.

Something metallic and raucous with some hard west coast bass and metal vox would fit well with the combination and lastly but probably not lastly would be the Crystal Castles song "Crybaby" mixed with a little 80's synth rock and droning bass. WOW!!! I know that's a hell of a mix right? Well...we intend to be a hell of a band now don't we? HELL YEAH!!!

First off, I want some girls in this setup, so ladies apply in earnest. Now the formula is comprised of :

One drummer/percussionist. You should be able to play hard and fast. Nice rolling cadences, soldiers on the approach, ready to die, poised to kill, intent on one or the other. Be able to play jazzy break beats, be able to play metal but not only metal. As for the percussion, we will need that for the tracks that focus mainly on the vox and rythym. Almost accapella but not.

One Bassist. Really low end. 5 stringers or higher. I think, we'll see. You gots to be funky, but know how to fit in with the harder edge tracks. This is rap, so I need you to thump, no slap, thump. Bass is integral. You are almost the entire feel of the sound, so FEEL heavy.

One Lead Guitar Player: Where are my shredders that love hip hop. This is not a metal band but at times we'll sound as one might. However, if all you want to play, all you can play is metal, keep looking, we are not for you. BUT if you can shred, and play jazzy and play soulfully, then you should feel welcome.

One Keyboardist. Don't worry, both you and the lead guitar will have a chance to shine. Play beautiful slowly augmenting chord riffs. Play 50's speakeasy jazz like those of the "Bugsy Malone" sound track. Play like Wim Mertens. Have 1000's of different sounds in your banks, you're gonna use'em, cause we're gonna need'em.

I mentioned before that we will be in constant evolution, so know that I intend to add more pieces to the puzzle, more principles to the thesis. Specifically, I would like to have a D.J. I would also like to add a nice smokey voiced vocalist but just not yet. Here are my thoughts on singers. They always leave, even their own bands, i.e. Gwen Stefani, Fergie (after they added her to "The Peas") still left. So let's get acquainted and then we'll think on expansion. I want us to gel a bit and would like to see what kind of singing, chanting, and screaming I/We can generate with just these members, so don't be afraid to do vox, be prepared!

We, the final selection, will be encouraged to try things outside of our comfort zones, so shake your fears and open your ears. If you are interested, just call me 1 (424) 789 9986. Let us waste no more of this precious time...
