the Humps

Vocalist - Soprano, Lead Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle.

My name is Wayne and I have been trying to figure out home recording since 2006. Starting to work some issues out, certainly been fun learning. My music is a mix of folk, punk, bluegrass, alt/rock, pop and spaghetti western and a little bit of everything I suppose. I was influenced by all music growing up so I tend not to lean too heavy toward one particular genre. My songs are recorded, produced, performed and mixed by me unless specified. I write and record mostly originals but do like to record my version of a cover song now and then.

I played bass and wrote songs on the acoustic guitar in my old band for close to 20 years. I play acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, bass, classical guitar, harmonica and various percussion instruments. I am most comfortable with the bass or my acoustic guitar in my hands, still learning the rest of them. I can sing but a better back up than lead vocal.

Mirror In The Bathroom is my cover of a great (English)Beat song. Billy Hunt came by and covered the blues classic Green Green Rocky Road, acoustic guitar and some vocals. Soul to Soul is a collaboration with musical artist "danke" from Hungary who I met at Looperman, a great music site to meet musicians. I wrote and sang the lyrics and he wrote the music. My Texas Rose was written for my friend Vic who just lost his wife of 26 years. My Tree is my new acoustic folk track about what's going on in my trees. Recently remixed Freight Train Conductor was written by me and features Jimmy Stiles on guitar and Billy Hunt on lap steel. Special guest Jimmy Stiles is playing guitar on the Link Wray classic Switchblade.
