Classically trained jazz and prog rock keyboardist seeking to collaborate with creative, progressive musicians to compose & record fusion originals.

I have a modest but effective digital recording studio in my home. All the tunes here (except Social Control & Street Kid) were performed and recorded in this studio by myself using digital, analog, and virtual synthesizers. My last original solo album Plush Toys is included here on BandMix (starting with "Dream With Me"), which exhibits a range of styles from urban dream-pop and jazz fusion to dramatic storyscape and symphonic improvisation.

Now I want to go further and collaborate to create and record originals incorporating other unique instrumental ideas. Songs would be structured loosely for improvisation and feature surprising changes or riffs; interesting lyrics and vocal effects; tasteful instrumentals; and innovative grooves.

But I need the right musical collaborators to do this - musicians who can bring their own ideas to the table and push me to reach further. If it works out, you will have equal credit from the venture. Are you up for the challenge and fun?

Email me at Richard at InterferenceTheory dot com to chat and possibly meet up.

As a young piano student, I liked Brahms, Schumann, and Prokofiev. As a gigging rock musician in the 70's/80's, my keyboard heroes were Keith Emerson, Patrick Moraz, and Chick Corea. Later, as a solo jazz pianist, I worshipped Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson and Art Tatum. But today, my composition style is more like a mashup of Weather Report, Vangelis, Matrix IX, Radiohead and Muse. Rhythmically, I like to use electronic drums and world beat samples, especially when paired with nontraditional grooves. Add to this the influence of 80's synthpop and 90's electronica bands for creative use of analog synthesizers.
