Possibly looking to collaborate informally or professionally in music projects, online, studio or live in the near future. I have a view to work within a live and recording band setting.
On the demos I write the tunes and play all instruments except drums. If my music sounds like it would add to your work, give me a shout and include a link to some of your own sounds.

No Time For Watching Clocks
No Time For Watching ClocksFor the ones you love... No Time For Watching Clocks Please don't run so fast Life is long Don't fall on the broken glass Our love is a promise A lifelong souvenir Once given not forgotten None shall disappear You don't need nobody To say who you are You are what you are You're a shining star Some people love And some people judge And some they are full of it Others want to hide Too scared to decide Paralyzed they make a fool of it I'll take my chances on the way You'll find if you go astray There is nothing in this world You need fear from anyone Life is long Life is you Boomtown Meltdown Build you up to let you down I can break No mistake Want to be a salad plate? Get on up Buttercup Guess you better suck it up Tough luck Be the rock Aint no time for watching clocks Some people love And some people judge And some they are full of it Others want to hide Too scared to decide Paralyzed they live their life in fear There is something in this world To be for everyone Life is long Life is you Recorded December 2018. The 1969 sing all vocals, play keys, bass, harpsichord VST, Brass VST. Percussion and drum loops arranged by 1969. All lyrics copyright The 1969.
A TimeA short instrumental Victoriana mood piece composed on piano keys set to accompany Magdalen Green and Portrait Of Absinthe Minded Polly on the forthcoming album 'Short Stories From Magdalen Green'. It has some simplistic echoes of my favourite classical composers Erik Satie, Frederic Chopin and Philip Glass. I once saw a short film time lapse of a flower growing from seed, to seedling, blooming and then withering. That's my thought behind this fairly rudimentary experimental piece, that it grows meekly, rises up to a full bloom and then descends slowly in notes and harmony before its ultimate end. It was a period of existence, a complete story, a time. The 1969 plays piano keys. Mixed and produced by The 1969. Additional mastering by John Marc Bimonte at Sharp Guy Productions. Recorded July-November 2018.
Portrait Of Absinthe Minded Polly
Portrait Of Absinthe Minded PollyA music hall experiment in 3/4 time waltz, drums in the style of Manic Depression by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, another poke at social conventions and my distaste for conformity... Portrait Of Absinthe Minded Polly Harriet's sister lives life wantonly Uninvited attentions are welcomed with glee But all eyes are on Etta For she's tres jolie Oh they just can't see They just can't see Why? To forget Sir Walpole Ratchett You sit on your mother's casket Drowning droplets of green pleasure With Earl Grey tea Wilhelmina declines ooh la la Attending occasions With perfect sang froid But they all laugh with Etta For she's fancy free So what about thee? They just can't see... Why? To forget their expectations Of class and society You decline to entertain Any notion of propriety Portrait of absent mine dead Polly Where did you go? They just can't see. The 1969 plays; vocal, vocal harmonies, bass guitar, electric guitar, 12 string electric guitar, piano, electric harpsichord & hammond organ plugins, drum loop sequencing. Produced and mixed by The 1969, mastered by The 1969, additional mastering by John Marc Bimonte @ Sharp Guy Productions Recorded September 2018
Magdalen GreenMagdalen Green; a Victorian park area near where I lived in Dundee, Scotland once upon a long ago. It overlooks the River Tay and the scene of the 1879 Tay Rail Bridge disaster where many people lost their lives when the bridge collapsed during a storm. The bridge was later remade and still stands today. Apart from that, Magdalen Green is a cool place to trip out ;-) Magdalen Green There's a place, I used to know Torch the stick, the embers glow Take my hand, firewalk with me I'll stay with you, we'll feel so free Magdalen late at night Green around you out of sight are we Feeling you, can I describe Fleeting bird, of paradise Tap the vein, go deep within Bleed the juice, from venom skin Magdalen, late at night Green around you out of sight are we Magdalen Green 400 years down by the sea Now you're so old and so are we You watched those souls fall in the sea Ghosts of the morrow they will be Loving you, you blow my mind Lizard skin, why so unkind? Crawling snake, from deep within Consume the fire, that burns within Magdalen, late at night Green around you out of sight are we Magdalen Green 400 years down by the sea Now you're so old and so are we You watched those souls fall in the sea Ghosts of the morrow they will be Watch those souls fall in the sea Ghosts of morrow they shall be The 1969 plays; vocal, piano, mellotron, marimbas, xylophone, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drum loop sequencing. Produced and mixed by The 1969, mastered by The 1969, additional mastering by John Marc Bimonte @ Sharp Guy Productions Recorded February 2018
If You Got Soul
If You Got SoulThanks to and inspiration from John Lennon's 1968 BBC interview at the National Theatre and the incredibly nostalgic poem 'I Remember, I Remember' by Thomas Hood. If You Got Soul If you got soul You gotta roll When I was a boy It would be easy for me to try To believe all the words that were written in the books By the seers and the gods on high Sky high There's a lie in the lie That they want you to buy It's a lie that you can't ask why But now I am older Got that weight off my shoulder Lift my finger up and point to sky No soul destroyer's gonna rock and roll her baby No state infraction's gonna Suppress the action now Insanity attack Distortion of the fact Maniacal quack Dehumanising An automatic fact The stick is in the back Establishments react Do they see their own writing On the wall? Do they see their own writhing At all? If you got soul You gotta roll And we the people We gotta get to go When I was that boy It would be easier for me to fly But now I am older Got that weight off my shoulder Lift my finger up and point to sky Sky high It was a child's sweet ignorance But oh so little joy To know I'm further off from heaven Than when I was a boy If you got soul You gotta roll And we the people We gotta get to go The 1969 plays; vocals, backing vocals, 12 string electric guitar, electric guitar, bass, piano, organ, mellotron, drum loop sequencing. Produced and mixed by The 1969, mastered by The 1969, additional mastering by John Marc Bimonte @ Sharp Guy Productions. Recorded October 2017
Crazy Horse One Eight
Crazy Horse One EightGenocide, collateral murder, warfare dehumanised to the level of a playstation shoot 'em up serving the ideals of corporatist oligarchs. The spirit of Baby You're A Rich Man rings true but in a bittersweet fashion. If only we could have been Beautiful People instead of Killing Machines. Crazy Horse One Eight How does it feel to be the killers of all of those people? Now that you know just who you are What are you going to say? How does it feel to be the killers of all of those people? How does it feel to be a killing machine?
