Zara Moon is a performance artist from East Tennessee. She is educated in composition and music theory, and is informed and influenced by contemporary pop music culture. She has toured with her former rock band, The Biscuitheads, as well as other various jazz ensembles from the years 2010-2015. She is looking for dedicated accompanying musicians that can perform and co-create based off of her original unreleased compositions.
Zara’s work, while hearkening to an older era of folk and traditional styles of music, is marked by her ability to create new instruments that ultimately make her music making ventures exciting experiments in technology and art.
Zara got her degree in performance art from the University of Tennessee in 2015, and she is known for her flute playing, singing, dancing, and instrument making.

Her musical roots are in Blues, Folk, Country, Rock & Roll, R&B, Soul, and various styles of Jazz.
Her musical artistry is influenced greatly by new experimental and avant-garde performers such as Marc Ribot, Laurie Anderson, and Phillip Glass.

It’s just Zara at the moment but we are looking to fill out an 3-5 piece ensemble with R&B and Blues backgrounds. Younger, more experimental musicians with specifically art focused backgrounds are preferred.
